Spoilers follow for Moon Knight episode 2.
A Moon Knight episode 2 Easter egg has teased the possibility of a team up between Oscar Isaac's masked vigilante and a character from Marvel Studios' Eternals.
The latest episode in the Marvel Phase 4 TV show has just landed on Disney Plus . And, while the mystery's puzzle pieces are now largely falling into place, you may still have some questions about what is actually going on. Those queries are set to be answered soon. We should know – after all, we've seen the first four episodes of Moon Knight , which was required viewing to produce our spoiler-free review .
But, there's one specific scene in the show's second episode that piqued our interest when we watched it for the first time. And, at the time of writing, we don't know if this specific Easter egg is just a subtle nod to Moon Knight's comic book history, or if he'll actually partner up with someone we saw in Eternals , i one of the most poorly received Marvel movies to date.
Before we explain where you can find this Easter egg, a word of warning: we're about to dive into spoiler territory for Moon Knight episode 2 after the image below . If you haven't seen the latest instalment yet, bookmark this page and come back once you've finished it.
Still with us? You'll want to know where this Moon Knight episode 2 Easter egg can be seen. The teaser can be found during the scene where Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) is trying to track down the storage unit owned by one of his other personalities, aka Marc Spector (also Isaac).
Cast your mind back to episode 1 when Steven found Marc's secret mobile phone. When he unearths the flip phone, he also finds a storage unit key – complete with a white and red keyring with the letter 'J' on it – alongside it.
Steven couldn't get any answers out of Layla (May Calamawy) when she spoke to him on Marc's phone. And, after his shock encounter with an Egyptian jackal in episode 1's final moments – which results in Marc's alter-ego, i Moon Knight, emerging to save the day – Steven (and you, by proxy) has more questions than answers. Where should he look next for clues about Marc/Moon Knight? Yep, the storage unit that Marc owns.
As we see in episode 2, Steven eventually tracks down the right building that houses Marc's containment unit. The on-duty guard leads him through the storage facility, and even kindly unlocks Marc's secret storehouse for Steven. It's here where that possible Eternals Easter egg is hiding in plain sight.
Before the guard walks away, you'll see that Marc's storage unit is labeled with the number '43'.
Sure, this may look like an ordinary two-digit figure that simply denotes which of these lockers belongs to Marc. However, we can use the number 43 to unearth a possible Eternals team up with Moon Knight. A simple online search for Moon Knight issue #43 leads you to a comic book – released in August 1992 – that contains a reference to a specific character who appeared in Eternals.
So, who is it? It's none other than Black Knight, aka Dane Whitman, who was portrayed by Game of Thrones ' Kit Harington in the 2021 Marvel movie.
Given that Moon Knight and Black Knight have fought alongside each other multiple times in the comics, this number 43 reference can't be a coincidence. Okay, yes, Moon Knight #43 wasn't the first time that the duo teamed up to take down a common enemy, but it's an interesting inclusion nonetheless.
Why is this important, then? Eternals' mid-credits scene holds the answer. After Sersi is kidnapped by the Celestial known as Arishem the Judge, Harington's Whitman vows to rescue her. Before doing so, though, he has to work up the courage to unsheathe the Ebony Blade, a mystical sword passed down through generations of his family, which grants its wielder the power to become the Black Knight.
Just as Whitman goes to lift the blade for the first time in his British Museum office, however, he's stopped when a mysterious voice calls his name from off-screen. That voice is none other than Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Luke Cage), who has been cast as Blade for Marvel Studios' upcoming solo movie about the vampiric anti-hero.
To cut a long story short, Blade and Moon Knight have battled the forces of evil together as part of the supergroup called the Midnight Sons. This superhero team is one that Isaac namedropped in Moon Knight interviews ahead of the Disney Plus show 's release, with the Dune and Star Wars actor expressing interest in seeing a live-action Midnight Sons MCU movie.
With Marvel Studios starting to explore into the MCU's mystical and supernatural side – Doctor Strange 2 , Moon Knight, and Blade are three such projects – there's every chance that we could see Moon Knight, Blade, and even Black Knight join forces to defeat a world-ending foe in the future. To do that, the former pair need another hero to connect them. In Black Knight, they share a common link.
Whose to say, then, that this Moon Knight episode 2 Easter egg isn't hinting at the trio collaborating down the line? Yes, we suspect that some of you will think this Easter egg is a bit of a stretch, but we certainly think it hints at something . After all, as much as Isaac and company claim that Moon Knight sits apart from every other MCU production to date, it must tie to other Marvel movies or TV shows somehow. Either way, we'll find out soon enough.
Buying a Google Pixel 6 or 6 Pro is finally a good idea - except for one issue
Since its launch in late 2021, the Google Pixel 6 family has been a double-edged buy - while the phones are great, months of Pixel problems have plagued users, with software bugs and problems making the devices difficult to use for some.
Sure, the phones sit high in some of our rankings, sitting near the top of our list of the best camera phones and best Android phones , especially the Google Pixel 6 Pro with its bigger screen and additional camera.
But given the many bug-free mobiles on the market, we've found it difficult to recommend the phones based on their software issues... until now.
Are the problems over?
For the Google Pixel 6 series' first few months of existence, the problems were bad and getting worse: each new software update seemed to introduce more bugs than were eradicated.
That leveled off into 2022, and with the April Pixel update bringing a huge swathe of fixes and patches, Pixel 6 phones are now a different proposition than they were before.
Sure, software bugs will never be eliminated in any gadget, but the new update brings the Pixel 6 family's issues into a reasonable level of expectations. Now, encountering a bug is a surprise, not a daily activity.
With the phones less prone to silly little errors, it means they're a lot more tempting buys than they were a few months back... with one tiny little stipulation.
The price isn't right
We usually see the price of a smartphone drop over time, which makes them more affordable if you wait just a few months. That's natural, and it's a general rule in the capital-driven world of tech and gadgets.
However that's not the case for the Google Pixel 6 family, despite nearly six months having elapsed since they debuted. In the US, the handsets generally cost exactly the same as they launched for. In the UK, at least at the time of writing this article, we're seeing that most prices are actually higher.
So the general rule of smartphone price entropy doesn't quite stand here, for now at least.
That could change in the future though, so if you're keen to buy a new Google Pixel phone and have decided the bug fixes mark your time to leap in, we'd recommend getting your calendar out.
Amazon Prime Day 2022 will likely fall in mid-July, and if you can wait that long, we'd recommend doing so. This period (it's not just one day, despite the name) will likely bring temporary price reductions for loads of Android phones, and given their age (and the lack of discounts), Pixel phones seem likely suspects for deals.
Even if they don't get reduced, they won't cost even more (hopefully) and you'll be able to pick up cases, power banks and more at a reduced cost.
If you don't want to wait for July, you can probably find some Google Pixel 6 deals to help ease the financial load, but it'd be worth just keeping your phone going for a few more months if you can.
DJI Mini 3 leak hints at radical redesign for beginner drone
The rumored DJI Mini 3 might be preparing for lift-off, with a new leak revealing what appears to be a redesigned body that's very different from its predecessor.
A video picked up on Twitter by @DealsDrone shows what is claimed to be the body framework for the upcoming DJI Mini 2 successor. And it looks very much like the drone we saw previously in leaked packaging for a "DJI Mini 3 Pro."
The main giveaway is the brackets for some new rotating front arms, which differ from the horizontally folding ones on the DJI Mini 2. This design change could help the Mini 3 support larger propellers for better wind resistance.
The leak also reveals a very different front end that hints at a redesigned gimbal support. Whereas the DJI Mini 2's three-axis gimbal, which helps to keep your aerial footage smooth, hangs down freely from the front of the drone, the Mini 3's appears to be held in place on both sides.
This has led some commentators, like DroneXL , to speculate that the DJI Mini 3 may even lack a stabilized gimbal, instead opting to use electronic image stabilization in a larger camera module. It's certainly difficult to see how the gimbal could compensate footage across all three axes in the leaked design, but dispensing with DJI's trademark gimbal on the Mini 3 would be a big step. One benefit might be the previously rumored addition of a vertical video mode for social media.
Otherwise, the only other hint we can glean from the leak is that the battery section – which takes up most of the craft's body – looks a little larger than on the Mini 2. Whether or not this means the DJI Mini 3 will use a new Intelligent Flight Battery remains unclear, but a longer flight time than the standard 31 minutes is certainly on our wishlist.
Analysis: Leaks point to mini Mavic Air 2
This DJI Mini 3 leak comes from pretty credible sources – and the similarities between this design and the one we saw on leaked packaging two weeks ago suggest the beginner drone will indeed launch soon.
Recent DJI launches have been preceded by increasingly frequent leaks and @DealsDrone, which picked up this new leak, has previously predicted that the drone would launch in April. If that's true, expect to see some more leaks and early appearances in retail stores over the next two weeks.
The DJI Mini 3 is a particularly exciting launch because the series has traditionally been the smallest and most affordable in DJI's range, while still also offering impressive image quality.
It appears from this new leak that DJI is focusing on the latter, with earlier rumors predicting a larger 1/1.3in CMOS sensor (up from 1/2.3 inch on the Mini 2) and a lens with an extremely bright f/1.7 aperture to help in low light.
The potential addition of front-facing sensors, seen on the earlier leaked packaging, would also make it a much more beginner-friendly drone and could help support features like autonomous subject tracking. The latter is only possible on the DJI Mini 2 when using third-party apps like Litchi , and its arrival would turn the DJI Mini 3 into something of a mini DJI Mavic Air 2 .
